The seminar will take place between 4 and 6 p.m. in the first-floor meeting room at the Bolton Building at 1141 Bayview Ave.
The keynote speaker, Jim Franks of the University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast Research Lab will speak on "Habitat & Spawning for Spotted Seatrout."
Also slated for discussion are:
• "Spotted Seatrout Assessment and Management" – by MDMR's Finfish Bureau Director Buck Buchanan and Read Hendon of the GCRL
• "Spotted Seatrout Culture" – Reginald Blaylock of the GCRL
• "Spotted Seatrout Tricks of the Trade" – Capt. Sonny Schindler of Shore Thing Charters
The seminar is part of a series aimed at enhancing familiarity between interested groups and increasing awareness of the programs, needs and opportunities that are relevant to marine research in Mississippi waters.
