The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) has reopened the portion of the Pearl River Wildlife Management Area in St. Tammany Parish north of Hwy. 90 to hunting.

LDWF closed this part of the Pearl River WMA on Dec. 16 when the Pearl River exceeded the 16.5-foot level. The Pearl River has recently fallen below the 16.5-foot level and is projected to continue falling.

However, Old Highway 11 will remain closed until the road is inspected and determined to be safe for vehicular traffic.
