Will Rives wasn't out to kill a state-record deer when he went bow hunting Dec. 14, but that's exactly what he left the woods with.

Now Rives tells the story of the kill, in his own words, in this MS-Sportsman.com video interview.

The deer, which netted a green score of 176 inches on the Pope & Young system, was taken from a Jefferson County lease and should easily set the new archery record in the typical category of the Mississippi Magnolia Records.

A written story also has been posted earlier, featuring a full photograph of this incredible deer.
