Get it in time for Thanksgiving holidays. Small enough to take on your canoe trip, durable enough to take on your 4-wheeler or tubing trip down the river. Make new friends at the pool or on the beach. Great for the boat, even better camping. A must for anyone who likes to tailgate! Take it with you to the sports field for a little “Eye of the Tiger.” This unit is meant for folks that really enjoy spending time outdoors with friends and refuse to compromise or sacrifice being without their favorite music. You are bidding on a brand new Ice Chest Radio. Mounted in a 25Qt Igloo Marine Ice Chest is a Brand New Dual Marine Head Unit with two 60 watt Marine Speakers. The head unit has a CD Player, front auxiliary port (easy MP3 hook up), USB, Radio, and detachable face plate with carrying case. For those not familiar with Dual – do not think for a second this is a “off brand” unit. They are based out of Florida and specialize in marine audio. This unit was made to be taken ANYWHERE and enjoyed by EVERYONE. In addition to everything being “Marine Grade” and will withstand all mother nature has to dish out - I have added a “splash guard.” The splash guard serves three purposes: 1 - Offers that much more protection against a sandy beach and muddy water from a weekend of ridding your side by side or ATV. 2 – Allows peace of mind knowing you don’t have to worry about knocking a button off or damaging the face plate while trying to get to your favorite spot. 3 – It looks pretty cool. In addition to using stainless steel mounting hardware the speakers and head unit were mounted with a thick bead of marine silicone to ensure the insides stay dry, and all components stay put – despite any constant vibration from a lot of base or bouncing of a rough trail. Don’t spend double or triple the money mounting a stereo and speakers to your side-by-side, 4-Wheeler, or boat to only be able to enjoy it when you are riding. This unit is compact, durable, versatile, LOUD, and you can take it anywhere! Don’t be limited to just enjoying your favorite music while riding on the trails or on the water. The speakers are mounted on the top of the ice chest to better project the sound, and not limit it to a single direction. This also keeps the sound from being blocked when stuffed into a tube to float the river or chill in the pool. The head unit is mounted on the front, towards the top, on the left. This too, was done with tubing in mind…It keeps the head unit out of the water and gives you easy access to the controls. I moved it close to the left side, in an effort to free up space on the inside. This is great for any dry storage. I have made bigger units in the past – but find this size is the most portable and easiest to take ANYWHERE. This is a 25 quart Ice chest where as your typical Ice chest is 40 – 48 quarts (pretty sure my wife has purses bigger than this ice chest). You can easily fit a “bag cooler” inside the unit – but believe it works better for dry storage (everyone always seems to need a place to keep cell phones, keys, MP3 Player, wallet, ect). This unit is small enough to take with you ANYWHERE and loud enough to be enjoyed by EVERYONE. This unit is wired with “Alligator clips” for easy connect / disconnect to your power source. Unhooking from the power source ensures nothing is “drawing” on your battery while not in use, making for longer playing time between charges. In an effort to cut down on shipping cost – and being able to make it more customable for you, this unit is being sold without a power source. I have used what is known as a “Jump Box” (is typically carried in a car to jump a dead battery) – and can be picked up at Target, Wal-Mart, Sears, or any auto store. These can be bought for around 40.00. The advantage to this option is they come with a charger and battery meter. The disadvantage is they are typically larger and heavier – taking up more room, and not lasting quite as long. Other option is to run it with a lawn mower / motorcycle battery from any of those same stores. Advantage is takes up less room and can last up to 24 months before having to replace. Disadvantage – you have to get a battery charger to go with it. I have seen similar units for sale on eBay and various other sites for two and three times what the reserve is set on this one. No it does not have an amp, or tweeters, satellite radio, SD card, or Flip-up TV monitor – but believe the ease of use and portability of this unit far outweighs a bigger, heavier, more expensive unit.
I also have units without the CD player for 175.00…You are going to spend that on a half-way decent MP3 player and not have NEAR the versatility! If we can arrange pick up / delivery, I will take 30.00 off the price. 195.00 included shipping.
