Are there a lot of birds in the area? It is either that or driving 45 minutes to hunt the airfield in Shuqualak. I have been out to both areas and have not seen much turkey sign (Did find some nice sheds....  Read More

This hunt was with my oldest son with video camera and youngest son shooting. As you can see his gun snapped but he kept his cool and took care of business.

This question for you seasoned turkey hunters. I will be a first time turkey hunter this coming season, my question is, as far as decoys go should I use a hen and Jake or a hen and Gobbler set up

My friend and his son put the hammer down on this big gobbler. This thing was gobbling his head off and came to a few soft calls. Going to hit the woods in the morning for the last turkey hunt of the year! Hope you enjoy this video!

Had to belly-crawl, and coax this guy away from some hens to within 31 yards.

I'm still excited, four days later!

Hunter McCrory 17 yrs old Saturday April 21,2012
The morning had really high winds, kind of cool temperature and misting rain. Not a great turkey hunting day. I sat down under a tree and started calling with a slate call. Immediately I heard a gobble. I could tell he was at least 100 yards away. I kept calling and he kept responding and getting closer. He came less than 7-8 yards from me. He....  Read More

Braydon (11) and Holden (7), On April 7th.. opening day after several stubborn birds and a terrified jake ran away like they were on fire. 2 Toms come to the call to check out the tom decoy and a hen. Bray and Holden each fired at the same time with 20g, 3' Turkey loads and at 1:30 pm they rolled them up. First turkey's and top it off with a 10 1/2 and an 11 inch beard. Great job boys

I didn't get to go Saturday morning but I got to go Saturday evening and what a good hunt it was.

From 4-6, I just set on this ridge and listened. I even took a much needed nap as I was worn out.

After making only 1 or 2 series of loud yelps while sitting there, I had produced no gobbles.

So I got up and relocated to a roost area. After I got set, I made an excited hen yelp series....  Read More
