    About Us

Southern Tradition Dog Training Kennels has been training quality family and hunting dogs since 1989.  We utilize traditional training methods, and positive reinforcement when training your dog. We treat every dog we train as one of our own.

STDT is a family-owned and operated full time dog training facility. Jerry and Dawn Moll along with their children have specialized in Obedience and Hunting Retriever Training since 1989. We are located in Southeast Louisiana and offer several different Obedience and Hunting Retriever programs to best fit you and your companion!

At STDT Kennels, your companion will receive the personal attention they need because we train only a limited amount of dogs at one time to ensure each dog will reach their full potential. We will train your dog to any level you would like them to reach. From basic obedience, to retrievers going on blind retrieves with hand signals to guide them, to achieving AKC and HRC titles.

STDT Kennels understands that each dog learns at different speeds and that no two dogs are the same. We adjust our training programs to fit each individual dog. Before you leave your companion with STDT Kennels for training, we will go over different programs that best fit your needs.

During the training process you will receive updates so you can track their individual progress. STDT Kennels will be completely up front and honest about your dogs' abilities. There have been several hunting retrievers over the years that began as just a hunting companion and became a hunting champion because that special something came out in training and we decided to go to the next level.

When you pick up your newly trained dog, we will go over the whole process together one-on-one through each step so the transition is smooth from trainer to owner. You will know how to handle your dog on your own.
