    SPORTSMAN TV takes its lead from MississippiSportsman Magazine and brings viewers exciting outdoor action and helpful and timely how-to and where-to information on both hunting and fishing in Louisiana and surrounding states.

    The show is hosted by Greg Hackney, a noted BASS pro and Louisiana resident. Greg has a lifelong passion for all types of fishing and hunting and eagerly shares his excitement for and knowledge of the outdoors with outdoorsmen throughout the South.

    Greg travels throughout Louisiana and the South to introduce viewers to both great outdoor locations and great outdoor enthusiasts. Each show consists of multiple segments that may touch on both hunting and fishing and that leaves the viewer with valuable information he or she can use to improve his or her outdoor experience.

    Win Prizes by Catching Fish with CCA STAR

    The CCA Louisiana STAR (Statewide Tournament and Anglers Rodeo) begins on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and last until Labor Day. During the competition, anglers compete for over $500,000 in prizes. Its signature division is the Tagged Redfish Division. CCA releases 100 tagged redfish each year, if you are in the tournament and catch one, you win!

    Greg Hackney Hunting Coons with Dogs

    If you like to hunt year round there are a few options you can take advantage. One of those activities is raccoon hunting with dogs. With a year-round open season on racoons, the Sportsman TV set out on a night time coon hunt recently. The trick was finding the right set of dogs. With no connection to any raccoon hunters, producer Jared Serigne took to Facebook to find the right combo of hunters and dogs for the episode- that’s when he found Coon Commander Outdoors.

    Catching Trout and Sheepshead Smackdown with Greg Hackney

    The trout fishing this month should start firing up with the passing of the April full moon. As the trout begin their transition into spawning places you’ll want to catch them in certain places.     How to Catch Trout in Shallow Water

    Trout fishing is a lot like real estate as it can often be all about location. Being in the right place at the right time can help you cash in on hungry schools of trout and a full box. Luckily, Sportsman TV hooked up with Capt. Travis Miller to show them around Dularge to check out the prime trout territories. Like a seasoned agent, Travis delivered and made sure Sportsman TV host Greg Hackney got the best deal on speckled trout.

    Greg Hackney Goes Redneck Squirrel Hunting

    Sometimes you just have to go old school to make an entertaining show and that’s exactly what Sportsman TV did on this latest episode. The guys got together and did an old fashioned squirrel hunt with a top notch squirrel dog named Sue Bob. Sue Bob kept her nose to the ground in this episode and provided the hunters with plenty of opportunities at bushy tailed tree rats.
