    Brandon hunter Alec Taylor shot this 350-pound hog in Adams County. It took three shots, the last two of which were at point-blank range, with a .30-06 in thick brush to finish off this boar.

    Hog Heaven

    Crouching low to the ground, I strain to see through the tangled jungle of briars and pin oaks ahead. It is fairly easy crawling, as I make my way toward the commotion, barely 40 yards more.

    Because hogs make a lot of noise and have poor eyesight, you can often get close to them to get off a shot, but if a hog smells you, it’s gone.
