Legal battle begins over side-scan technology January 29, 2010
Anglers were blown away when Humminbird introduced their Side Imaging sonar, and Lowrance customers joined the clammor last year when that company released its StructureScan Imaging module. Now the company's are locked in a legal battle over the right to sell the innovative technology.
The parent company of Humminbird electronic has filed suit claiming competitor Lowrance infringed on the company’s patent for side-scan technology, according to a news release.

Proposed deer-hunting changes awaiting House action January 26, 2010
A proposed legislative bill that would increase gun hunting for deer by 22 days has the endorsement of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.
House Bill 1282 passed out of the House wildlife committee on Thursday (Jan. 21), and is awaiting full consideration of the House, which has until Feb. 11 to act on bill or will die on the calendar.
