Youth program funding available from MDWFP August 4, 2010
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks is accepting applications for the Youth Participation Initiative Program from organizations interested in helping MDWFP get more youth involved in the great outdoors.

Mississippi territorial waters opened to catch-and-release fishing July 23, 2010
The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources and the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality on July 20 reopened Mississippi’s territorial marine waters to live-bait shrimping and recreational catch-and-release hook and line fishing in areas previously closed due to the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

Waters between Martin Island and Isle Au Pitre on the northeastern tip of the Biloxi Marsh have been closed today (May 28) to all fishing after oil was confirmed in the area, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries reported.
