With the closure of the federal season on June 29, the STAR Tournament recently announced the red snapper division's winner, according to Coastal Conservation Association Louisiana.

Jaevon Riley, of Moss Point, Mississippi, caught a 26.35-pound snapper and claimed the $5,000 tackle package from STAR.

"I'm so happy that CCA extended its offshore boundary to include Mississippi anglers this year," said Riley. "I've been telling everyone to sign up but I am sure glad no one beat me."

In 2013, the CCA Louisiana STAR extended its offshore boundaries to the Mississippi/Alabama line for each of its four divisions: Red Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Dorado and Lemonfish.

STAR wraps up its 19th year on Labor Day.
