From T-Reed to T-Rex.

It wasn’t a long stretch for the call designers at South Carolina-based Big Lake Outdoor Products, who earlier this year debuted a pair of T-Rex duck calls, one in acrylic and one in wood.

The T-Rex calls feature the company’s stainless-steel T-Reeds, which make for extremely raspy calls in a double-reed format, combining the No. 3 and No. 4 sizes. Both calls make great sounds for hunters trying to imitate mallards, and the two reeds inside the acrylic body make for a guttural call that’s death on diving ducks.

The wooden versions are made from Bocoto and/or Dymond wood laminate, an extremely hard wood that makes for a distinct sound.

The wooden version retails for $50 and the acrylic version for $110.
