More fish have been caught around the world on Rat-L-Traps than on any other crankbait. The iconic lures produce a legendary sound that makes fish angry or hungry. Either way, they just can’t let a nearby ‘Trap pass them by.
There are a number of popular techniques for fishing a Rat-L-Trap, and we wanted to see how each makes the bait look and sound in the water, so we took a 1/2-ounce Trap to our friends’ swimming pool, and followed along with some underwater cameras.
We also tested a floating Rat-L-Trap, an Echo 1.75 and an SB-57 to try to determine the best methods for fishing these crankbaits.
