The 2013 Bassmaster Central Opens will stop in Mississippi, when Ross Barnett Reservoir will host the tournament circuit’s final event on Oct. 17-19, 2013, B.A.S.S. announced.
The Rez has a storied Bassmaster history — it was the site of the fourth event in BA.S.S. history, as well as the location of the 1978 Bassmaster Classc.The 2013 Central Open season begins with a stop at the Red River out of Shreveport on April 25-27, B.A.S.S. announced.
This stretch of the Red River was home to the 2009 and 2011 Bassmaster Classics, as well as a number of other Bassmaster tournaments over the years.
The winner of the 2013 event will earn an invitation to the 2014 Bassmaster Classic.
After the Red River event wraps up, the circuit moves to the Arkansas River out of Muskogee, Okla., on Sept. 19-21. The Opens have stopped in Muskogee only once.
Priority online registration for the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Opens begins Oct. 16; B.A.S.S. Federation Nation and Lifetime members can register online beginning Oct. 23, and other B.A.S.S. members wishing to fish all three tournaments in a division may register online on Oct. 30. Additional dates have been set for call-in registration and for anglers wishing to fish only one or two events. A complete schedule is available on Bassmaster.com.
