Summertime fishing frequently means crappie anglers will use either live bait or a combination of plastic jigs tipped with minnows, and keeping the tiny fish alive has been a priority difficult to achieve in the Mississippi heat.
Frabill has made that simpler with its new personal bait station called Min-O-Life.
The Min-O-Life combines superior insulation into a hard cooler design that holds up to eight quarts of water to keep the bait and water healthier.
A lift out net liner eliminates the need to keep up with a separate bait net. The bait station comes equipped with a Frabill model 1423 Whisper Drive portable aerator that runs all day long on 2 D-cell batteries.
“We go through a lot of minnows during a day of fishing,” said tournament angler Jay Bruce. “This Frabill tank fits perfectly in the front of the boat so we can get to it easily without having to getting out of our seats. It also keeps bait alive and active even when it’s hot and your bait is most likely to die.”
But don’t think it’s just a summer necessity. Think about those cold winter days when dealing with a water-filled minnow bucket can be brutal.
“During the winter I like the Min-O-Life because it keeps my hands out of the water,” Bruce said.
