MDMR certifies state saltwater finfish records for November 2024

The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources certified three state saltwater fishing records for the month of November.

For conventional tackle, Jawaun Walton of Memphis, Tenn., set the record for Atlantic Stingray (Dasyatis Sabina) with a fish weighing 8 pounds, 3.68 ounces.

For youth conventional tackle, Rodie Armes, 14, of Pass Christian set the record for Atlantic Sharpnose Shark (Rhizoprionodon terraenovae) with a fish weighing 11 pounds, .64 ounces and Cooper Wrightson, 11, of Ocean Springs set the record for Northern Kingfish (Menticirrhus saxatallis) with a fish weighing 6.08 ounces.
