MDMR certifies two state records

The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources certified two state fishing records this month.

James Landers of Pascagoula set a new record for Vermilion Snapper (Rhomboplites aurorubens) using conventional tackle was with a fish weighing 5 pounds, 3.2 ounces.

Riley Armes, 10, of Pass Christian set the youth record for Ladyfish (Elops saurus) using conventional tackle with a fish weighing 2 pounds, 9.6 ounces.
