Hunters killed 149 coyotes during the sixth annual Carolina Coyote Classic Feb. 9 – 10, 2019. Headquartered in Stanly County, N.C., the competition takes place across North Carolina and South Carolina and gives hunters a chance to compete and share notes with like-minded outdoorsmen while doing their part to curb the overpopulation of coyotes in both states.

Team Merciless, made up of hunters Steven Davis and Colt Minton, won $2,200 cash and a host of hunting-related prizes for killing 17 coyotes. Prizes were also awarded for biggest male coyote, biggest female coyote, and smallest coyote. Coyotes have become a nuisance in all 146 counties of the Carolinas.
