  • Today Thrusday 3/19
Today my Kentucky crew returned for round two after a bad weather trip last year and today they managed to put a serious hurting on the Redfish. Mike, and his crew buckled down from the start and managed to box redfish after redfish. Before you knew it 2 hours had passed and the fish box in the Ranger was bursting at the seams. Grand total for the day was 30 Redfish, 10 Drum, 2 Bass, and a few trout. . All fish were caught 2’ under a cork using Berkley Gulp and Matrix shad. The fishing in Hopedale Louisiana is really unbelievable and is just going to get better each and every day. Call Capt. Sal today to book your trip and enjoy the fishing adventure of a lifetime. Still have a few days open this month so call and book a trip today.

    Today Wednesday 3/18

Today my crew managed to get it done before the rain was due without a problem. After a short run and 2 stops my crew managed to put a really nice box of fish together and make it back to the dock around 11:00 to beat the rain. Both of the young ones wanted redfish and that’s what they got, while at the same time managing to give their dad a tough time by catching redfish after redfish. Today’s count was 20 redfish and 20 drum for my guest from Oklahoma.

Today I had the pleasure of fishing with a great bunch of guys. I had Stan, his friend Harry and Kenny and his son Champ. The guys caught fish after fish on every cast. This was the first time I had ever seen a teen say he had caught enough and put the pole in the rod holder. The guys finished the day with 75 nice specks, 10 reds and 6 sheep heads. Really great bunch of Guys and looking forward for their return. All fish were caught on Campo’s shrimp 3 feet under cork in the Hopedale. Call today to book your trip and enjoy the fishing adventure of a lifetime. Still have a few days open this month so call and book a trip today.

Within the next hour my crew managed to boat the a few more Reds and Drums. Suddenly the wind and a rain storm popped up and we decided to call it a day and run from the approaching storms. My crew called it a day with a total of 5 Bull Reds, 12 slot Reds and 17 drum. The action in Hopedale, Delacroix and Black bay is heating up fast. Today I had the pleasure of fishing with my Honeymooners David and Ann from California. They arrived to the boat with very light clothes due to not expecting the very cold weather. After a few minutes of adjustments, the captain managed to get both covered up with Jackets and a set of his own bibs. With the water again gone with the wind we started with a long run to deeper water. Again it proved to be the right call. Both were hooked up from the first cast with BULL REDS!!!!!! After catching and releasing around 10 Bulls we made a move. 2nd stop and 5 smaller reds. 3rd stop and 1 hour later we headed to the dock with a total of 2 Bull Reds, 8 other smaller reds, and 10 really nice Black Drum. While I cleaned and packed the fish for shipping my Honeymooners warmed up and feed the Pelicans. I have a couple weekends and weekday dates available in March and April so give Capt.
