Hi Mississippi guys, just wanted to share my first ever public land Mississippi harvest with y'all since I've been hunting Mississippi public land for 3 years and finally got one! He is my most mature buck to date and my biologist friend aged him at 5.5 years and was 195lbs. I post on several different hunting forums around the nation to learn about all kinds of hunting tactics and enjoy reading all the stories of the monster bucks posted that are killed in Mississippi. I plan on posting some of my future big game harvest in the particular state I get one from, on their local forums where I learn most of my information to hunt these places. I'm just getting into traveling the nation to hunt big game and appreciate all the great info and stories. I usually hunt public land in Louisiana where my camp is located across from Natchez but enjoy heading out across the river to Mississippi where I see so many more deer and met several very nice local hunters. Just found out my wife's family has land in Mississippi and is from there in the Beinville NF and look forward to scouting it in the future! We got married in Natchez last year and its one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited. Many of the smaller bucks and does in my video were taken in Mississippi and I hunt the homochitto and st. catherin's creek nwr. Here is the my latest write-up from my apex predator column on my Mississippi buck and video of my harvest as I try to video my public land adventures...though usually the footage isn't as great as I would like:
Hope to have an archery buck story in Mississippi to share soon!
