  • Looking at a quick place to chase turkeys close to home. I am going to the Red Creek area and maybe little Biloxi this weekend to look around. I have never been there. It will be interesting to see how it is in this area. Not wanting to scout via internet incase you wonder but I do like to chase Turkeys.... If they are there or not I am still going..... My honey hole is unavailable for this weekend so my travel will be close to home. Anyone hunt here? Any luck? Thanks for what info you want to provide ahead of time....... I know this place will definately not be the kind of hunting I am spoiled by but a good hard bird is always rewarding, harvested or not........

Friday morning took me for a turkey for the first time this season. Immediately located and got set up in the perfect spot....... Just happened the hens flew down behind me and the roosting toms were in front. Fog was burning off as I could make out three blobs around 60 yards out...... Ol boss would gobble and the two lessers would shock gobble behind him. With the help of the live hens directly behing me and a purr here and there I was able to close the deal.... Boss had a 10 inch beard sporting 1 1/4 inch and 1 1/8 th inch spurs... Weighing in at 20#,,,

Just wanted to ask my fellow Bowhunting Community to be on the lookout for my stuff.
1.Mathews Mq32 bow with a Truglow Razor sight, doinker silencer, custom floresent orange and green string, Easton drop away rest with Simmons Tube quiver, 6 gold tip arrows with broadheads. bow has deer track stickers on limbs. Stolen from personal vehicle in Diamonhead community.... Report was filed..... The punk thieves were caught but my stuff is nowhere to be found! The gear is in excellent shape! If you see this gear please let me know. Chances are slim but just keep me in mind................

On top of being an avid obsessed waterfowler my other weakness is archery. That means taking deer with it not just shooting the dang thing! We better get on the ball if we are gonna keep it in the books. It is on the plate now to reduce the days for archery to an extent. Who wants to be an avid archer and have fellas running around with firearms at the same time? Even though we do choose to hunt during the gun seasons we still like the peaceful feeling of walking in the woods that October with nothing but bow in hand with no firearms present. Better vote on it now! Before it is too late! MBHA worked their tails off for us to have this as it is now! So , get your membership! Get your vote in! Save our early peaceful time in the woods!

Its a done deal for now and no need to argue. Fact is yes , we bowhunters can hunt all season with our bows. BUT! It is nice to have those days where we dont have to worry about gun hunters in the woods while we are bow hunting. In comparison...... I believe to dog hunters, hunting during the still season..... If the populations are over the top in specific areas just up the harvest ratio..... I do know that I take out a doe or two then I trophy hunt. 10-15 bucks a pop for an arrow gets steep when you just sling em around at those slick heads. I see the side to both needs.
Guess I will bite the bullet this year and try to find out what actually needs to be taken at what ever WMA I draw and shoot for that first. I do not believe I should have to let a trophy buck walk just to take a doe out though.
Ya know, I was thinking. After all the draws I have had at Twin Oaks and Mahannah during those sweltering October months. I have let tons of does walk waiting on that buck to walk under me. More times than I can count I went home empty handed. I guess I will do my part and take a doe this time.

Sounds like that will do the trick! I made a call today. Got to wait and see when he drives by the property to see whats coming in..... Its been hit and miss this season.... Hopefully they are there. It is around Leland..... We usually hunt there over speck deeks and easily get our birds and a few snows and blues. But a large spread will be the trick... Let you know if I can come through......... I have four layouts to use too....

If your a rag hunter.... You can put those things out yourself.Ive logged many hours doing that and I say NAH!!!! But if your talking 2-3 grand worth of full bodies-sillys-socks-or shells etc I may just believe you! I have a place that may be holding some. Let me know the numbers of deeks you have and we may get those powerhunters muddy !!!!! I will have to make a call! Then you can buy the blinds when we leave! LOL speckulator on MSDucks

Looks like posting has not caught on here yet. But no I have not seen any geese to worry with. Besides that, if you do not have a couple of grand worth of decoys you will be peeing in the wind! I love goose hunting myself but I can not afford a snow spread like I need. I have speck deeks but the season is closed! Creeping may be your best bet! And that too seems to be hard to do nowadays! Geese are lighting in the middle of fields more than on the rows it seems.......... Educated!
