No mandatory CWD checks this month

Mississippi has no mandatory check-in dates for chronic wasting disease in December but will resume with nine Southwest Mississippi counties Jan. 2-3 and 15 counties in Southeast Mississippi Jan. 16-17. Hunters are urged to voluntarily check in deer in December to test for chronic wasting disease. The MDWFP has a statewide system of check stations.
