Rachel Diner booked a guided crappie fishing trip with Barton Outfitters on Sardis Lake in hopes of catching some fish for dinner with her husband Elie. The pair took turns scoping fish from the front of the boat and blind casting in-line spinners from the back. Both techniques produced fish, but still presentations of minnow tipped jigs off the front outperformed fan casting off the back. At the end of the day, the pair both caught nice eating size fish in 6-8 feet of water off stake beds and went home with stories and fish to share.
