STAR Tournament begins

Join the STAR today to be eligible for more than $500,000 in prizes offered through the CCA fishing tournament.

The CCA STAR Tournament begins this weekend, allowing saltwater anglers to compete for more than $500,000 in prizes in Mississippi and Louisiana.

The tournament, open to all CCA members, runs through Sept. 3.The STAR prizes include trucks, boat packages, kayaks, gear and more. Entrants can fish in Mississippi and Louisiana with the edition of the Mississippi division this year.

Entry fee is only $25 per person (kids fish for free, and are eligible to win in the both youth and adult divisions). Entry fee includes a one-year membership to CCA-Mississippi.

CCA-Mississippi also offers 14 weekly prizes in both the youth and adult divisions.

The adult grand-prize winner in the Mississippi Division will take home a Blue Wave bay boat package, while the youth grand prize winner will receive a Carolina Skiff package.

All Mississippi participants are eligible for the special Mississippi Speckled Trout division, while youth anglers can fish in the adult trout division and in youth-only speckled trout and flounder divisions.

In addition, all participants are eligible for the hallmark tagged-redfish division — which offers a Chevy Silverado to any angler catching the first of nine tagged redfish released along the coast.

There also are are 11 divisions for which both Mississippi and Louisiana anglers are eligible.
