Bring the little ones to Katfishin’ Kids this Saturday

Katfishin’ Kids is a great opportunity to introduce a child to fishing.

What better way to celebrate the start of summer than with some free fun? Make plans to attend Katfishin’ Kids this Saturday, June 2, from 7 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the Turcotte Lab off Highway 43 at the Ross Barnett Reservoir.

This event is free to all and no equipment is needed. Bring the kids, 15 and under, for a fun-filled day where they can learn the basics of fishing. They’ll be taught how to tie a knot, select the correct lure, bait hooks and cast. In addition, the pond will be stocked with catfish for them to try their hand at catching some fish.

Each child participating will receive a free t-shirt and goodie bag while supplies last. Lunch will also be provided free of charge.

Directions:

From Lakeland Drive – From I-55 take Lakeland Drive to Highway 471 Exit (Goshen Springs Exit). Turn left onto 471 and travel until you get to Highway 43. Turn left (west) and go until you see the signs.

From the Natchez Trace – Get on the Natchez Trace at the I-55 North intersection going east(right). Stay on the Trace for about 11 or 12 miles. At that point you will see an exit sign for Highway 43. Take that exit. Turn right onto Highway 43. The event is on the left. Signs will be posted.
