The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) recently hosted the annual Association of Southeastern State Parks Directors (ASSPD) conference, welcoming over 160 attendees from across the United States. Held at the Sheraton in Flowood, the event brought together park directors, staff, and industry professionals to exchange ideas and strengthen the future of state park management.
The conference featured a diverse lineup of speakers from across Mississippi, covering topics such as the history of Mississippi State Parks, Economic Development, and sponsor presentations. Attendees also had the opportunity to visit museums in Jackson and tour two state parks to see firsthand the progress of the new era of Mississippi State Parks.
“We were honored to host this year’s ASSPD conference,” said Andre Hollis, MDWFP Director of State Parks. “It was a great opportunity to connect with park leaders, share insights, and showcase everything Mississippi has to offer.”
MDWFP wants to thank all speakers, sponsors, and attendees for making this year’s conference a success and looks forward to continuing its efforts in promoting outdoor recreation for generations to come.
