Three generations of anglers enjoy fall crappie bite on Sardis Lake

Larry York brought his two best fishing buddies (his grandson Walker and his dad Andy) on a fall fishing trip at Sardis Lake with Mississippi Crappie Guide Service Barton Outfitters. Despite pulling crankbaits for most of the post-spawn spring and all summer, their guide, Aaron Barton informed the group to get ready to bait lots of hooks and watch your rods more close as the trio would be pushing and pulling minnows in 18-20 feet of water catching roaming crappie along the deeper flats near channels and ditches. The bite was consistent on the day of their trip, Sept. 23, 2023, and the crew went home with a mess of 13″-15″ prime eating size white perch.
