Joey Jason Holliman was arrested on Thursday night for allegedly cyberstalking a Marine Patrol officer.

Traffic stop, citations lead to threatening Facebook posts

It’s OK to get a little mad if you get a traffic citation, or three, but as a McHenry man learned the hard way, it’s best to let it go and not let the anger create even bigger problems.

Joey Jason Holliman was arrested Thursday night for allegedly cyberstalking a Mississippi Department of Marine Resources officer that had stopped Holliman a day earlier for traffic violations. The misdemeanor stop included two citations for careless driving and a third for not having proof of insurance, DMR officials said.

Holliman was arrested without incident at his home in McHenry, and was taken to the Jackson County jail where his bond was set at $2,500, DMR reported. The agency was assisted by the Stone County Sheriff’s Office.

According to DMR Marine Patrol Chief Keith Davis, his office received several tips about Holliman threatening Marine Patrol Officer Michael Strickland in a Facebook post. According to Davis, Holliman apparently found Strickland’s Facebook page and posted the threats just after the traffic stop had been completed.

A Jackson County Justice Court judge issued the arrest warrant Thursday afternoon and Holliman was arrested Thursday night.
