If you’re like me, boots can either be a godsend or a curse. I’ve had boots straight out of the box that never wear a blister, and I’ve also has the misfortune to spend all day in boots that rub your feet raw.
Cabela’s 8-inch Silent Stalk Sneaker, however, falls into the former category. I literally hunted all day in these boots straight out of the box and can honestly say they were as comfortable as my tennis shoes.
The boots feature a streamlined cut and the soft rubber outsoles normally found on tennis shoes, but they are packed with hunting-boot technologies that have the spot-and-stalk hunter in mind. My pair is not insulated, which is perfect for hanging stands in the heat of the summer, or even for early season hunts.
The leather upper incorporates Cabela’s Microtex, a micro-weave fabric that is found in Cabela’s clothing. The material is as quiet as fleece but has the durability of denim. The best part is that you can actually “feel” what’s under your foot before you put all your weight down. But the soles definitely aren’t so thin that your feet hurt after walking on gravel. These boots are also abrasion-resistant and waterproof, yet they still allow your feet to breathe.
It’s really an amazing pair of boots, and I would definitely recommend checking out a pair before buying your next pair of hunting footwear. Given that the MSRP is lower than most competitors, yet the quality just as good – if not better – than the $300 others charge, you won’t be disappointed.
