This image of a buck seemingly flying by user Rcketop's trail cam was declared the best photo in the 2011 contest's final round.

Winners earn Mississippi Sportsman subscriptions, gift coupon to Sportsman Store.

User dusty_smith was named the December winner of the Nikon Big Buck Contest, while Rcketop won the final round of the 2011 Trail Cam Contest.

Each winner earned a Sportsman Gear prize pack that includes a one-year subscription to Mississippi Sportsman and a $25 gift coupon to the online Sportsman Store.

Site users choose photo contest winners by voting on their favorites from among a selection of images chosen by site administrators.

In the Nikon Big Buck Contest, dusty_smith blew away the completion by 90 percent of votes cast for his image of a great Giles Island archery buck.

Users Jamie Barnes, Hornhunter2 and elroyhunter91 split the remaining votes.

See the entire photo gallery of bucks killed this season – and add photos of your own – in the Nikon Big Buck Contest, which is open to all registered users of this site. There is one remaining voting round, which will begin shortly after the season closes on Feb. 15.

In the final round of the 2011 Trail Cam Contest, Rcketop’s photo of a buck seeming to fly was overwhelmingly voted users’ favorite image of the month.

Amazingly, this image earned 100 percent of the votes cast.

The Trail Cam Contest is now over, and will resume in August. However, the 2011 photo gallery can be viewed here.

No videos were entered into the Deer Hunting Video Contest, leaving that prize pack unclaimed.
