Free shotgunning training available from expert shooter

Learn how to better shoot a shotgun from four-time United States International Shooting champion John Satterwhite during more than 15 classes hosted by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.

Each class is held on a Saturday, and will run from 8:30 a.m. until about 1 p.m. Each class, open only to Mississippi residents and limited to 15 people, is hosted by MDWFP through the cooperation of local gun clubs and a National Shooting Sports Foundation grant.

Instructor Satterwhite is a six-time gold medalist who represented the United States in the Pan-Am Games, Olympics and World Shooting Championship. Shot shells, clay targets, instruction, safety glasses, hearing and eye protection will be provided, along with a shotgun for those who don’t have one.
