Duck Commander gives Conan O’Brien duck-calling lessons

Conan O'Brien tries his hand at duck calling after Duck Commander's Phil Robertson gives him a few tips.

Phil Robertson provides tips to late-night TV show host

Late-night TV show host Conan O’Brien got duck-calling lessons from one of the best Tuesday night — Duck Commander’s Phil Robertson.

And he did OK. Or maybe not.

Depends on who you ask. “I would like to learn about duck calls,” O’Brien told Roberston during an appearance by the elder Duck Commander and son Willie. “I think we could all learn, so why don’t you give me a quick starter course.”

Willie Robertson produced a call made for O’Brien, and Phil Robertson proceeded to give him some pointers.

“When you hear me call, you come back and do the same thing I do,” the elder Robertson said.

The succeeding moments provided very funny moments, as Robertson and O’Brien went through the basic steps of blowing a duck call.

Be sure to watch the video below.

“Ladies and gentlemen, we have operator problems,” Robertson declared after O’Brien’s first attempt.

Willie Robertson declared O’Brien’s attempts as “good,” but the elder Robertson wasn’t so convinced — although he did provide some encouragement.

“It’s a weak start,”the veteran Louisiana duck hunter declared. “Listen, you can do this.”

“What do you mean, ‘weak start?’ I think I blew the roof off this place,” O’Brien countered. “How do you know there’s not ducks settling all around Warner Brothers right now?” O’Brien countered.
