Youth fishing rodeo set for North Mississippi Fish Hatchery

A free youth fishing rodeo will be held at the North Mississippi Fish Hatchery and Visitor Education Center at Enid Lake on Saturday (May 22).

The Visitor Education Center pond will be stocked with catfish for this youth activity. Young anglers should bring their own fishing equipment and bait, along with a container to take their catch home. Prizes will be awarded for tagged fish.

This free event, sponsored by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, is for children ages 15 and younger. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., and fishing  continues through 11 a.m.

A free hot dog lunch will be served.

This event is an ideal way to introduce youngsters to fishing. Adults are encouraged to bring their children, neighbors, and friends for a memorable morning of fishing fun.
