Recreational gag grouper season closure announced

The recreational fishing season for gag grouper closes on Nov. 3, the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources announced today.

Recreational fishing for gag grouper in territorial waters will end Saturday (Nov. 3) at 12:01 a.m., the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources announced today (Nov. 1). The fishing season closure mirrors action taken by the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council in federal waters.

Anglers are reminded that, until the season closes, the daily bag limit for gag grouper is two per person within the four-fish combined grouper total.
