The 2013 recreational red snapper fishing season begins June 1, the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources announced.
The season opens at 12:01 a.m. on June 1, and is set to close July 5 at 12:01 a.m. for Mississippi anglers, the MDMR reported. However, the exact closure date could be modified, so be sure to check back often for updates. Each angler is allowed two red snapper per day, with a minimum size limit of 16 inches.
