Pair pleads guilty to wildlife violations

Vicksburg men faced separate charges for harvest of alligator, paddlefish

Dusty Wayne Murphy and Michael Shane Uzzle Jr., both of Vicksburg, pleaded guilty this week in Warren County Justice Court to separate wildlife violations, the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks announced Friday.

Murphy was fined $2,500 plus court costs for the illegal harvest of an alligator.

Uzzle was fined $2,000 plus court costs for the illegal harvest of a paddlefish.

On July 4, Murphy and Uzzle were arrested on the Yazoo River, near Kings Point Island by MDWFP conservation officers with assistance from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
