MDWFP issues ‘Digest’ correction

The 2017-18 Mississippi Outdoor Digest included some incorrect information regarding the regulations and limits for the upcoming deer season.

Incorrect data printed regarding 2017-18 deer seasons, limits

Mississippi sportsmen who have gotten a copy of the 2017-18 Mississippi Outdoor Digest are being warned about misprints regarding the regulations and limits for the upcoming deer season.

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, which publishes the Digest, said it included incorrect information regarding deer bag limits and legal buck descriptions (beam measurements).

According to a MDWFP news release this week, on Page 16 of the Digest, under the section titled “Bag Limits,” the text should read:

“The bag limit on Delta, Northeast, East Central, and Southwest zones antlerless deer is three (3) per annual season. The bag limit on Southeast Zone antlerless deer is one (1) per day, two (2) per annual season.”

On the same page, in the table titled “Legal Bucks,” the print should show 13 inches for the Southwest Zone under the main beam column.

These corrections to the Mississippi Outdoor Digest reflect official 2017-2018 Mississippi hunting season regulations. A correct digital version of the 2017-2018 edition of the Mississippi Outdoor Digest can be downloaded at http://www.eregulations.com/mississippi/guide/.
