Monthly contest winners announced

Mississippi Sportsman magazine subscriptions, Sportsman Store coupons awarded.

Winners in three the Nikon Big Buck Photo, Trail Cam and Deer Video contests have been selected, with each winner earning a great Sportsman Gear package.

“These contests give us the opportunity to say ‘Thanks’ to our loyal users,” LouisianaSportsman.com’s Andy Crawford said. “The contests are free to all of our registered users.”

In the Nikon Big Buck Photo Contest, user “taylor 4h” took the top prize for a photo of her first deer – a great 8-point killed during a youth hunt with her grandfather.

“I was starting to lose hope in getting a nice buck, (b)ut then my grandfather turned my chair around and told me to take a shot at the first deer in the bunch,” taylor 4h wrote. “I knew he had horns, but really had no idea how large he was.”

taylor 4h earned half of the votes cast, and will receive a free one-year Louisiana Sportsman magazine subscription and a $25 gift coupon to the online Sportsman Store.

Users “Jospeh Cox,” “SGT CORN” tied for second and “Max Lovertich” rounded out the monthly finalists.

The contest continues through Feb. 15, with every user submitting photos qualifying for monthly prizes and a random drawing for a set of Nikon Monarch ATB 10×42 binoculars.

In the Trail Cam Contest, user “BuckDat88” won with his photo of two bucks and a raccoon.

BuckDat88 earned 58 percent of the votes cast, and will receive a free one-year Louisiana Sportsman magazine subscription and a $25 gift coupon to the online Sportsman Store.

User “Dick Cox” placed second with 32 percent of the votes cast for his image of an extremely wide-racked Warren County buck.

A photo submitted by “JWhiteboy” showing a huge 14-point he later killed placed third, and “BREEDLOVE9” placed fourth.

There were two videos submitted to the Deer Video Contest, and user “RSHunting” won with a video titled “Real South Hunting – Ep. 6.”

This contest is determined by the number of views, and RSHunting’s vid attracted 655 views.

DAX wins a free one-year Louisiana Sportsman magazine subscription and a $25 gift coupon to the online Sportsman Store.

The second vid also was submitted by RSHunting.
