Color of frogs matters in bass fishing

Bass Pro Shops’ Jenifer Flanagan with a couple of nice bass.

Jenifer Flanagan grew up fishing small ponds, flood-control reservoirs and large river systems like the Tombigbee with her dad, Butch Flanagan of Collinsville — and she learned color does matter when she’s fishing frogs.

“I like to use the watermelon red color Scum Frogs in the clear-water lakes with just a little stain, and I’ll use white frogs on the Tombigbee,” Flanagan said. “And black has always worked well for me on small ponds.”
