Best lures for Bee Lake bass

Bates’ killer topwater bait, a Jitterstick, with slight modifications.

As mentioned in the main article, Terry Bates uses a variety of lures. But he has his favorites.

“When bass are actively feeding on the surface, I like to fish frogs around grass and propeller-style baits like a Jitterstick or buzz bait along the edges of the grass,” Bates said. “If I’m fishing among the cypress trees, I like to work a Jitterstick or similar-style cigar-shaped prop bait around the trees.”
