Keep that A-rig under control in storage

Thompson uses empty jugs to keep his rigs from getting tangled up in the rod box.

While working a stretch of hay grass, Jerry Thompson saw some silver flicks and quickly opened his rod box.

The first thing that caught my eye were two large plastic bottles that, at first glance, seemed to be on top of the stack of rods.

A closer look revealed that the bottoms of the jugs were cut off.

When Thompson, owner of Living the Dream Guide Service, pulled out a rod, this Nestle’s Strawberry Milk jug was pulled down over a tangle of jigs.

He pulled the jug up, and an Alabama rig sprang out — ready for action.

“It keeps the A-rig from getting tangled up in the rod box,” Thompson said. “But you’ve got to have the Strawberry Milk bottle.”
