Nonresident Public Land License Endorsement

Out-of-state turkey hunters traveling to Mississippi in 2023 should be aware that the state is continuing the Nonresident Public Land License Endorsement again this season. Nonresident hunters are required to obtain this special, no-cost Public Land Endorsement in addition to other regularly required licenses when hunting any open public lands between March 15-March 28.

Applications are now live at mdwfp.com and will stay open until 10:00 a.m. on Feb. 15. Once the application period closes, a drawing will be conducted and winners will be notified by email. Be sure to provide an active email address as winners will be required to claim their endorsement.

This license endorsement provides a way to mitigate the increased demand put on the species for those opening two weeks.

The Public Land License Endorsement is not necessary to nonresidents hunting private lands, nor to those visiting Mississippi’s public lands after March 28. Hunters desiring to hunt Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) with an existing draw-only season will still have to apply to those specific WMAs separately through the traditional draw hunt process.
